Associate Systems Engineer - United States The Associate Systems Engineer (ASE) role is specifically for top university graduates whom have a desired interest in following a career path to become the next generation Cisco Systems Engineer. This is one of the lead client facing roles within the Cisco Sales organization, working in alignment with the Account Management teams to qualify the needs of our clients, develop solutions and manage relationships. Education Requirements: Minimum BS/BA or equivalent military experience (MA/MS/MBA may also apply) Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Computer preferred), Information Technologies, Computer Sciences, Math, Life Sciences, or Physics CCNA/CCDA certification preferred MCSE certification highly desired Experience: 0-2 years which may include technical support, pre-sales support, hands-on installation in the computer technology industry, business or sales. Eligibility Requirements: Maximum of 2 years work experience, new graduate within 24 months (graduation date between May 2006 July 2008) Must be willing to relocate to Research Triangle Park, NC for a 12 month training program. After successful completion of the Sales Associates Program, you must be willing to relocate to one of the Cisco field sales office within your country of citizenship. Note: Relocation is based on business need. Our Opportunity Associate Systems Engineers are the technical specialists of our sales community. They work with our customers to ensure technical needs are fully understood and met if not exceeded by our solution. As an ASE, you will get an opportunity to work with a variety of leading Cisco technologies, as well as interact with our valued customers adding a business and client relationship context to your role. You will participate in a 12-month extensive learning experience that provides you with the training you need to become a successful Cisco Systems Engineer. As an effort to support informal learning of education, exposure, and experience, you will receive in class room training, participate in mentoring workshops and gain hands on experience of various Cisco products and solutions. For the first six months, you will spend 90 percent of your time training to acquire business acumen, executive presentation and sales skills. Cisco technologies, business solutions, competitors, and products will also be covered during training. During this period, you will also earn your certifications as a Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) and a Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP). During the next six months, you will spend 50 percent of your time in advanced training and 50 percent of your time working with Systems Engineers and other teams, i.e. the Technical Assistance Center to gain experience working with Cisco customers. You will also work extensively in lab environments to gain hands on experience with testing and trouble shooting. You will have earned certifications as both a Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA) and Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP). Upon completion of the 12 training, you must pass a presentation review panel to be considered for a position as a Cisco Systems Engineer.
